Nachiketa, what a character!

Today I will try to introduce Naciketa, the hero of Kathopanishad.  It is so strange, king, educated, knows everything, has people, wealth everything under his control ends up being stupid. And a kid, his own kid, not even finishing his schooling, less than 7 years old kid, supposed to be nobody, neither having money nor having people, nothing under his control, ends up being a hero. Strange are the drama of the Cosmos. So the underlying truth, what our society or country respect may be totally different from what Cosmos expects or what Cosmos respect.

Please listen, Nachiketa, kid, kid means real kid, not portrayed as kid real kid, he became the source of enlightenment for billions to come in the future. Please understand, Kathopanishad is the Hindu Book of Dead and death.

If you have read Tibetan Book of Dead, you will understand, every idea represented in that book is from this book. This is the Source book, anywhere, any research, any understanding, any intuition, any sacred secret, any revelation about death, it is from this source, and many conclusion, humanity is yet to arrive is already revealed in this book. Luxurious lifestyle takes away the strength of your body and mind to reinvent itself with the flow of life

I’ll continue to expand on Kathopanishad. Yesterday I was speaking about the story Vajashravas, King who is feeling insecured and was asked to do a fire ritual from the Vedas, but started doing without understanding the context his son Nachiketa questions. This is the story. I will now try to expand the sacred secrets hidden in this story.

The first thing: king getting into the mental setup of business or bargain, shows the identity crisis happened to him, please understand. The king is the person or at least he is expected to be a person—either lives with powerfulness as a giver, giver, giver or collapses and disappears from us. Please understand, king is not expected to be eternal, but he is expected to be powerful, as long as he is there as king. He can’t afford to get into the mental set up of a Vaishya, businessman.

Same way, a person of knowledge he is not expected to be a giver, nobody expects a person of knowledge to be doing charity, but he is expected of a high standard of Consciousness, highest standard of Consciousness. He is expected to constantly share the spiritual knowledge — live, remember, share the spiritual knowledge. He can’t afford to commit even a small mistake. King in the war can kill even those few innocent people who are not directly involved in the war. He won’t incur a big sin because when there is a war naturally there will be innocent deaths, but a person of knowledge, a Brahman cannot even kill an ant. Even an ant cannot be killed by him. So from each persons the anyakara of society, what society expects, the role they need to fulfill in the society is different. So the identity collapse. Inauthenticity entering into the identity, the identity crisis is what Gita describes as jāti naśta, intermingling of castes, getting impure.

Please understand, because the ancient time the jāti was based on the mental set-up, not just based on your birth. Vishvamitra by jāti is a Kṣatriya [warrior], but he is always remembered as the highest Brahmana. He is respected as Brahmarishi by Vashistha. Understand, each one need to maintain their role. I will expand on Kathopanishad, the introduction story. Please understand, it’s a very beautiful story, the introduction story.

There was a time aliens were not aliens to us. Please understand. When your mind divides, divides, divides, even the other country people are called aliens. No, this is the extreme stupidity some of the so called developed countries call the other country citizens as aliens. The abusive nature and arrogant nature. See, I am not saying that what India is suffering by the Bangladeshi invaders, that should be allowed. No, I am not supporting that. See, if someone wants to come from Bangladesh and live here, be part of our society, I don’t think I have any right to oppose. But when they come here, try to harm our villages, run a riot, do criminal acts, then we have all the right to protect ourself. But no way we have a right to give them the title ‘aliens’. We have no right to give the title ‘aliens’.

There was a time when we were so vast in our heart. The Satya Yuga, even aliens were not aliens, they were able to smoothly, easily come and go. We were able to go to their space and come. That was the time this story happened, where a seven year old kid can straight walk up to Yama’s abode …Yama comes, showing his form clearly. Unimaginable, unending, inexhaustible excitement and enthusiasm happens on a person who understands death

auṁ saha nāvavatu | saha nau bhunaktu | saha vīryam karvāvahai |
tejasvi nāvadhītamastu mā vidviṣāvahai ||
auṁ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ ||

This great Upanishad, Kathopanishad, Upanishads are the essence of Vedas.  Among the Upanishads, Kathopanishad is Upanishad shiromani, Upanishadasikamani means it’s one of the best Upanishads because the subject it deals is Death.

Please understand, with right understanding Death can become rejuvenation energy, energy which will rejuvenate you.  Don’t think death is always a curse, when you don’t understand, it’s a curse. Actually when you don’t understand even Chiranjeevatva, eternal life is a curse, do you know the Chiranjeevis of the world Prahalad, Markandeya, Hanuman, Ashwathama, in all these Chiranjeevis, Ashvathama was cursed to be Chiranjeevi. Please understand, Ashwathama Chiranjeevatva is not a boon for him, that he will never die is not a boon given to Ashvathama, it was a curse given to him.  Just imagine you are never going to die, you will literally be swallowing tons and tons of depression pills and boredom pills, if you don’t understand life, the life is not understood, life is a curse.  If death is not understood, death is a curse.  If you understand both, I tell you, every time death happens it is a possibility for you to rejuvenate and take a new body. Kathopanishad talks about death, so many secrets about death and how you need to live your life to understand death, have liberation when natural death happens to you. Let me enter into Kathopanisad, the Shanti Mantra. Please recite the Shanti Mantra along with me.

auṁ saha nāvavatu | saha nau bhunaktu | saha vīryam karvāvahai |
tejasvi nāvadhītamastu mā vidviṣāvahai ||
auṁśāntiḥśāntiḥśāntiḥ ||

Listen! The whole concept of Indian education system, how it was, how it should be – in future – how it was and how it should be in future. Please understand, whenever I am glorifying the past, I am not indulging in it, I am visualising it for the future. Listen! If the past makes you more and more powerless, you are indulging in it. If it makes you to decide to build your future again and again, it is vision. It is vision.

Understand, all you need to do in your life, all you need to do to make what you want as reality. Looking at the right past, that gives you courage, hope, to relive it, to recreate it, the real future. Here the word ‘past’ I use should be understood not from the context of your past, but from the context of collective past. Whenever you see there is no possibility for new flow of energy in your life, then comes boredom, frustration, violence.

Understand, boredom is one of the biggest crimes done to individual consciousness. Boredom is one of the biggest crimes done to individuals by the collective society. And the worst crime is giving foolish solutions for the foolishly created boredom, the so-called entertainment industry. Understand, instead of solving the problem in the root. For example, you are having a nightmare that 10 tigers are chasing you, 11 lions are attacking you, the anaconda is running behind you. In the dream, you are running. In the bed itself, you are screaming, “Oh save me, save me, tiger is coming. Anaconda is coming….” If somebody brings and gives you AK47-59, and tell you, “Come on, my dear friend, how can you be suffering? Save yourself.” You don’t know whether he will shoot himself or you.

The problem needs to be handled in a simple way. Just tap him, “Aye. Wake up.” But instead, if you try to solve the issue by giving AK47-59, “Wow. I am giving 59 in the right hand, and 47 in the left hand…” and giving even 2, 3 bombs so that he can throw that and run away from all the animals chasing you. How stupid you are! That is exactly what society is doing to you. Instead of making you understand the source of the boredom, and go beyond it, it is providing entertainment industry. Don’t, don’t live in a country where the entertainment industry is too big. Listen, don’t live in a village, where there is no temple. Don’t live in a place where there is too much of entertainment. If there is too much of entertainment, be very clear, those place, people are too violent to divert their attention. Entertainment industries are flourishing. First and foremost commandment of Hinduism is THOU SHALL NOT DIE!

There is so much of powerlessness, powerlessness based focus on Death. But, if you turn your attention on dying, the powerlessness will be removed from Death. If you are waiting for Death to stare at you, you are waiting for powerlessness to overpower you. If you are staring at Him, when He is staring at somebody else, you are removing the powerlessness from Death. Understand, as a Hindu Incarnation, authority on Hindu tradition, Upanishad, and the Hindu way of living and Hindu goals, Hindu ambitions, I tell you, first and foremost commandment of Hinduism is THOU SHALL NOT DIE.

Do what it takes. Do what it takes. THOU SHALL NOT DIE—that is the first and foremost commandment for Hindus. Fools are those who die, stupid are those who plan for liberation after death, Hypocrites are those who never look into the eyes of death while living. Criminals are those who are diverting others attention also from the Death by stupid, shallow, shady lifestyles. Any lifestyle which is trying to divert your attention from looking into the eyes of Death and ability to go beyond the death, that life is shady, shallow, stupid, hypocritical, blind. Criminals are those who are promoting those lifestyles and diverting your attention from the original need of life, going beyond death. My mission is removing all the prepositions and suppositions added, got loaded on Vedic tradition and bring the naked Truth as it is.

First and foremost commandment for Hindus—thou shall not die. Understand. Death beyond the frustrated poets’ descriptions, constipated philosophers, discrepancies, brain dead intellectuals ‘blah blahs’, beyond all this…the Lord of Death is directly taking the questions about Death from a small kid.

The story has lot of significance. He is able to explain it even for a small kids means, there is no propositions and suppositions. Understand, anything, which has become realization without prepositions and suppositions, that is the only Universal truth.

This modern day western mathematicians and stupid scientists, they develop so many stupid theories and formulas – constant, infinity, which has no value. Then what do you mean by this formula? Your theory, your formula has no value, because you insert somewhere one constant or infinity, which can’t be described. So these are all the so-called – appears like a truth with many prepositions and suppositions. But anything, which is Truth without prepositions and suppositions, are only Reality. Kathopanishad – direct word from the Lord of Death

Kathopanishad is the last 8 sections of Taittiriya Samhita, Krishna Yajur Veda. It is 119 verses. When Sri Rama Chandra lists all the 108 Upanishads in Muktikopanishad to Hanuman, Rama lists this Upanishad as the third Upanishad.

The main subject of the Upanishad is DEATH. Even though I have spoken many times bits and pieces of this Upanishad, here and there I have quoted this Upanishad, I used this Upanishad to explain the truths, sacred secrets behind Death. In many of our programs, satsangs, but now formally, systematically I have to introduce this Upanishad. It looks tooo big. I am just wondering…It is like I have to chisel the whole mountain using a small chisel and hammer. Where will I start, how will I continue? It is just using my small words, now I will have to describe and introduce this whole Upanishad.

This Upanishad is not commandment of somebody who realized God, no! Even if you realized God, a little bit will be your Enlightenment experience, a little will be your brain masala.
