When you face death you see that it is nothing but life!

Death is a deep relaxation. It is the ultimate ‘letting go’. It is the dropping of the old and starting with the new. When your being recognizes that it cannot achieve what it wants to through this body it decides to move on. This ‘moving on’, this ‘passing over’ is what is called death.

When your brand new house becomes old after the passage of years, you either try to repair it or if that is too inconvenient and frustrating, you decide to sell the house and move into a new one. When you do this, do you feel that you are missing something?

No!

In the same way when you feel that you have not lived your life totally in the way you wanted to, you leave this body to take a new one. You want to restart. Your choice to start all over again is what is called death.

In the same way when you feel that you have not lived your life totally in the way you wanted to, you leave this body to take a new one. You want to restart. Your choice to start all over again is what is called death.

When you die, all that happens is that you rejuvenate your body and your mind. You take a fresh set of memories, a new place, a different set of relatives, a new life. In other words you take up a new birth hoping to fulfill all your incomplete desires. Whatever you left unaccomplished you come down to finish. This choice given to you by god to start all over again is death. Continue reading “When you face death you see that it is nothing but life!”

We are not able to face death because we are not able to face the ever-changing nature of life!

Once, in USA, a young lady asked the great Indian monk Swami Vivekananda, ‘What is life?’ Swami Vivekananda said, ‘Come with me to India. I will teach you.’ She asked, ‘What will you teach me?’   He said, ‘I will teach you how to die.’

The question is about life but the answer is about death! It seems strange! What Swami Vivekananda is saying is that if you know the secret of death, the quality of your life will be different. Your very understanding and attitude towards everything will change.

We can actually use our lives to prepare for death. We do not have to wait for the pain of seeing someone’s death or the shock of being faced with a critical illness to force us to look into the meaning of life.

If you know how to die, you know how to live. Living and leaving are two sides of the same thing.

Death is not a mere incident at the end of your life. It is a profound knowing. If you know how to die, you know how to live. Living and leaving are two sides of the same thing. Your life will be totally different once you understand death.

Upanishads should not be eaten like a rasgulla, but have to be enjoyed like sugarcane!

The essence of Kenopanishad is—asking, seeking the source of the Whole.

Understand, seeking the source of you is essence of Isavasya Upanishad.

Seeking the Source of the Whole is the essence of Kenopanishad.

Seeking what happens after death is the source of, that’s the essence of Kathopanishad.

Each Upanishad, please understand, carefully you have to listen now. Each Upanishad gives a thought current, not answers, no.

If you read Isavasya Upanishad you’re not going to have the answer for “Who am I?”

NO!

If you read Kenopanishad, you are not going to have the answer for “What is the source of all this?” No.

If you read Kathopanishad, you’re not going to have the answer for “What happens after death?” No.

But if you contemplate, if you do manana, if you entertain, engage with the thought current this Upanishad opens up in you, suggests in you, you will have answers. You will have experience, you will have experiential solutions.

Listen carefully.

If you entertain the thought current of Isavasya Upanishad, you will simply have solution for the problem of —“Who am I?”

The identity crisis will just dissolve the pratyagātma caitanya jāgratam – the individual consciousness awakening, will simply happen in your system. And, listen carefully…Upanishads are penned down in such a way, if you start entertaining them, start cherishing them, celebrating them, they open up experiences in you, but you can never make a shop out of them. Means, you can’t sell the ideas from Upanishads; because in no Upanishad, no conclusion will be given to you as dos and don’ts. Do this, don’t do that, no. Vidhi niśedha cannot be given.

I am fortunate I am born in a tradition where you can’t make a franchise. You can’t make a franchisee, the franchisee religions. The Vedic tradition is so pure, it can only give thought currents. You enjoy, celebrate the thought currents, you will find solutions for your life. Continue reading “Upanishads should not be eaten like a rasgulla, but have to be enjoyed like sugarcane!”

Upanishads are not do’s and don’ts but the thought currents you need to cherish, enjoy, entertain for higher intelligence to happen in you!

Introducing Kenopanishad. Somebody asked me, “Human beings are just developed monkeys, but how we are able to perceive so much about the Universe, Planets, Space? How we are able to understand so much about all this? Why other animals, even the closest version of us, chimpanzees, are not able to catch, understand things about Universe. Why human beings are able to understand perceive, even manipulate, as we want? Already we have space stations, some of the big rocks coming towards the Planet Earth we can blast it or redirect it from there itself. Already we are able to manipulate movements in the space. How?

Please understand, because only human beings started asking the question – keneśitaṁ – by whom? This Upanishad is responsible for keeping one of the most important, powerful thought current responsible for human intelligence. Please understand, few of the thought currents responsible for why human beings are the way they are. Listen, few of the thought currents—why the human beings are the way they are.

The first thought current—“Who am I?”

Second – “What happens after death?”

Third, most subtle, most precious, most important thought current—“What is the source of all this?” What happens after death? — that thought current was kept alive in the humanity.

Please understand, no Upanishad is a conclusion.

I wanted you to understand this Truth. Neither Isha nor Kena, or Katha, or Mundaka, or Mandukya. No Upanishad is conclusion. That’s the beauty. Seeking thought currents consolidated for further research is Upanishads. Understand, it is not answer. The whole Isavasya Upanishad you won’t get a single answer. These are some of the thesis proposed, some of the thought currents needed to be cherished, pondered upon, thought about, those thought currents will give you 1000 question 2000 answers. But those thought currents need to be kept alive; for your next generation they may give 10,000 questions and 20,000 answers. Nachiketa, what a character!

Today I will try to introduce Naciketa, the hero of Kathopanishad.  It is so strange, king, educated, knows everything, has people, wealth everything under his control ends up being stupid. And a kid, his own kid, not even finishing his schooling, less than 7 years old kid, supposed to be nobody, neither having money nor having people, nothing under his control, ends up being a hero. Strange are the drama of the Cosmos. So the underlying truth, what our society or country respect may be totally different from what Cosmos expects or what Cosmos respect.

Please listen, Nachiketa, kid, kid means real kid, not portrayed as kid real kid, he became the source of enlightenment for billions to come in the future. Please understand, Kathopanishad is the Hindu Book of Dead and death.

If you have read Tibetan Book of Dead, you will understand, every idea represented in that book is from this book. This is the Source book, anywhere, any research, any understanding, any intuition, any sacred secret, any revelation about death, it is from this source, and many conclusion, humanity is yet to arrive is already revealed in this book. It is THE book. Continue reading “Nachiketa, what a character!”

Always establish yourself by contribution, not by throwing tantrum

Anything in my hand let me play with it. That is the only way I will prove my existence. Your existence is proved by your contribution not by your ability to throw tantrum. Please understand the people who are not able to contribute, try to prove their existence by throwing tantrum. I am not talking only about male or female, any side. In general humanity, trying to prove your existence by throwing tantrum is one of the biggest stupid mentality we accumulated, we acquired. Understand, free fall from your authentic identity is hell. Wake up to the reality of the free fall happening in you. You will suddenly know that you have to take up a serious action to stop it, to stop it.

Look in and do not try to establish your identity by throwing tantrum.

Establish your identity by contribution, by enriching. I don’t know how much I can make you guys believe, how much I can… how much you guys will be able to believe. I have seen my own Mother, she is still alive. I have….I am seeing her now for last 37 years. It’s not that she was always only in the high in her life. She was born and brought up to a very decently established family. I can say the…her fa… parents are upper middle class people. I heard in those days that was the most organized and largest wedding happened in that whole village. She had that kind of a background. But, my father was not that rich and he could not maintain even the wealth given to him by my grandparents. But throughout last 37 years, I am seeing her. I have not seen her even once trying to establish her identity by throwing tantrum. I just feel blessed that I am carrying her bio memory. Free fall from your Authentic Identity

I will enter into Kathopanishad. I have something very important to share with you all in Kathopanishad today. I was explaining the way the Vajashravas mind was getting degraded and the space he was going through. Please understand, when I explain the degradation happening to Vajashravas, the meaning of the explanation is – please don’t allow that to happen in you. It is not that I have personal anger with Vajashravas, so I am tearing him to pieces. (laughs) No. I am doing literally post-mortem of his mind and his being, because … so that you will not let that happen to you. See, if you are a person of the business nature, don’t ever try to enter into the power game. Because, in power game lot of risks will be taken, which you can’t afford.

You can easily be put in pain if you are a business natured person. Please understand, if you are a business natured person only one of your shop getting attacked is enough, you will move out of politics or you will move out of all the power game.

Always try to catch your nature based on your root-pattern and fulfill that. That will bring tremendous feeling that you lived.

Please understand the feeling that you lived, that fulfillment that you lived, that is the first step for Enlightenment. See, there are extraordinary Paramahamsas, who doesn’t even need to enter into life, who can just get everything out of their system and directly get enlightened. But, 99% of us are not that way. We get into the regular life and go through the ups and downs and root- pattern and everything. Only through this way we are going. So, 99% of us the way we are travelling … please understand, the fulfillment you lived. Continue reading “Free fall from your Authentic Identity”

Luxurious lifestyle takes away the strength of your body and mind to reinvent itself with the flow of life

I’ll continue to expand on Kathopanishad. Yesterday I was speaking about the story Vajashravas, King who is feeling insecured and was asked to do a fire ritual from the Vedas, but started doing without understanding the context his son Nachiketa questions. This is the story. I will now try to expand the sacred secrets hidden in this story.

The first thing: king getting into the mental setup of business or bargain, shows the identity crisis happened to him, please understand. The king is the person or at least he is expected to be a person—either lives with powerfulness as a giver, giver, giver or collapses and disappears from us. Please understand, king is not expected to be eternal, but he is expected to be powerful, as long as he is there as king. He can’t afford to get into the mental set up of a Vaishya, businessman.

Same way, a person of knowledge he is not expected to be a giver, nobody expects a person of knowledge to be doing charity, but he is expected of a high standard of Consciousness, highest standard of Consciousness. He is expected to constantly share the spiritual knowledge — live, remember, share the spiritual knowledge. He can’t afford to commit even a small mistake. King in the war can kill even those few innocent people who are not directly involved in the war. He won’t incur a big sin because when there is a war naturally there will be innocent deaths, but a person of knowledge, a Brahman cannot even kill an ant. Even an ant cannot be killed by him. So from each persons the anyakara of society, what society expects, the role they need to fulfill in the society is different. So the identity collapse. Inauthenticity entering into the identity, the identity crisis is what Gita describes as jāti naśta, intermingling of castes, getting impure.

Please understand, because the ancient time the jāti was based on the mental set-up, not just based on your birth. Vishvamitra by jāti is a Kṣatriya [warrior], but he is always remembered as the highest Brahmana. He is respected as Brahmarishi by Vashistha. Understand, each one need to maintain their role. Continue reading “Luxurious lifestyle takes away the strength of your body and mind to reinvent itself with the flow of life”

Varnashrama Dharma is the most abused concept in Hinduism

I will expand on Kathopanishad, the introduction story. Please understand, it’s a very beautiful story, the introduction story.

There was a time aliens were not aliens to us. Please understand. When your mind divides, divides, divides, even the other country people are called aliens. No, this is the extreme stupidity some of the so called developed countries call the other country citizens as aliens. The abusive nature and arrogant nature. See, I am not saying that what India is suffering by the Bangladeshi invaders, that should be allowed. No, I am not supporting that. See, if someone wants to come from Bangladesh and live here, be part of our society, I don’t think I have any right to oppose. But when they come here, try to harm our villages, run a riot, do criminal acts, then we have all the right to protect ourself. But no way we have a right to give them the title ‘aliens’. We have no right to give the title ‘aliens’.

There was a time when we were so vast in our heart. The Satya Yuga, even aliens were not aliens, they were able to smoothly, easily come and go. We were able to go to their space and come. That was the time this story happened, where a seven year old kid can straight walk up to Yama’s abode …Yama comes, showing his form clearly. Aliens were not aliens in those days. I hope again, the same space will come back. Continue reading “Varnashrama Dharma is the most abused concept in Hinduism”

Blessed are those who experienced utter poverty at least once in life

I tell you, poor man is a man who has never seen poverty even once in life, understand.  I am defining who is poor man, poor man is a man who has never seen poverty even once in life.  Because this country has already suffered in poverty, we are not understanding the richness it can cause, please listen, I am not promoting poverty, all I am trying to tell you is even once if you have not realized poverty you will not have the free space in your being to re-invent yourself, that is why in the science of enlightenment at one point you have to break, renounce everything, be in the street empty handed, till that you don’t own anything, nothing can be the reason for your cognition of  “I”, your “I’ has to be just dependent on “I”, the mind cannot be the foundation ground for “I”.

For that understanding to sink in, at least one year in your life you should have been empty handed, nothing, without anything, no relationship, no friends, no money, nothing. I tell you, that one year will give you the strength to re-invent who you are and I can tell you nine years of my accepted poverty, self-imposed poverty, not imposed on me forcibly.  I may not want to say my Purvashram (pre-ashram) family is rich, but they are decent, they were able to provide food and clothes and shelter for me, that much they are able to do, but when I renounced all of that and family, friends, all the known contacts, everything, that nine years of self-imposed poverty gave me tremendous space to re-invent myself and re-build the new “I” from the space of completion. Unimaginable, unending, inexhaustible excitement and enthusiasm happens on a person who understands death

auṁ saha nāvavatu | saha nau bhunaktu | saha vīryam karvāvahai |
tejasvi nāvadhītamastu mā vidviṣāvahai ||
auṁ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ śāntiḥ ||

This great Upanishad, Kathopanishad, Upanishads are the essence of Vedas.  Among the Upanishads, Kathopanishad is Upanishad shiromani, Upanishadasikamani means it’s one of the best Upanishads because the subject it deals is Death.

Please understand, with right understanding Death can become rejuvenation energy, energy which will rejuvenate you.  Don’t think death is always a curse, when you don’t understand, it’s a curse. Actually when you don’t understand even Chiranjeevatva, eternal life is a curse, do you know the Chiranjeevis of the world Prahalad, Markandeya, Hanuman, Ashwathama, in all these Chiranjeevis, Ashvathama was cursed to be Chiranjeevi. Please understand, Ashwathama Chiranjeevatva is not a boon for him, that he will never die is not a boon given to Ashvathama, it was a curse given to him.  Just imagine you are never going to die, you will literally be swallowing tons and tons of depression pills and boredom pills, if you don’t understand life, the life is not understood, life is a curse.  If death is not understood, death is a curse.  If you understand both, I tell you, every time death happens it is a possibility for you to rejuvenate and take a new body. Kathopanishad talks about death, so many secrets about death and how you need to live your life to understand death, have liberation when natural death happens to you. Continue reading “Unimaginable, unending, inexhaustible excitement and enthusiasm happens on a person who understands death”

If you have the right understanding and context, so much of activism will be there in you.

anyad evāhur vidyayā-anyad āhur avidyayā |
iti śuśruma dhīrā
a ye nastad vicacakire || 10 ||

It is said that by vidya, the knowledge cognized from the right context of grasping the truth, Consciousness, and the superficial knowledge acquired from the wrong context of grabbing without cognizing the subtle truth certainly a different result is achieved. Similarly it is said that by Avidyā, the authentic actions and the ignorant actions, a very different result is achieved. Thus have we listened from those wise beings who have explained that absolute principle to us.

Essence. The sacred secret, the key truth from this verse—the context you set for you, please understand, the context you set for you before entering into action or life is more important than your decision of entering or not entering into life or what you do or don’t do in life.

Listen once more.

The context you set before entering into life is more important than what you do or don’t do in your life. Context, if you set the context of Bhakti, your travel becomes pilgrimage, food becomes prasada, water becomes tīrtha, ash becomes bhasma, music becomes kirtan. Man becomes human. Understand, setting the context is much more important than the action, commission, or omission of acts, doing something or not doing something. Doing something or not doing something is not that important than the context. Continue reading “If you have the right understanding and context, so much of activism will be there in you.”
