These two verses, if they are understood, then not only the whole Bhagavadgita but all the spiritual scriptures can be realized.

Somebody asked me, ‘Swamiji, can dead Masters teach us like Paramahamsa Yogananda, Mahavatar Babaji etc.? If I pray to them, can they show me the path?’ I told him: dead masters are not dead as you think. When they are … Continue reading These two verses, if they are understood, then not only the whole Bhagavadgita but all the spiritual scriptures can be realized.

Power of intensity in the life of enlightened master, Ramana Maharshi

There is a beautiful example of the power of intensity in the life of enlightened master, Ramana Maharshi. When he was sixteen, spontaneously this happened to him. He was in Madurai near his native place called Thiruchuzhi, which is in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Suddenly one day he started feeling that he was going to die. The great death fear arose in him. We also sometimes feel that fear of death when we hear about some relative’s or friend’s death or when we see an accident or when we come across some news about death. We are so well-versed or trained to suppress our emotions and control ourselves that we never allow this fear to come out. We are such hypocrites that we don’t even know we are cheating ourselves! Many times we can see the fear rise but we are an automatic mechanism of suppression. Over time we learn how to balance ourselves or suppress ourselves. We suppress ourselves and just forget about it or try to do something. We just turn the attention elsewhere. But Ramana Maharshi did not do anything. He used the door to take the jump. What resulted in Paramahamsa Nithyananda Swamiji’s first spiritual experience

The Upanishads, the ancient vedic texts by the sages and mystics that happened as revelations, say that for the person who is initiated, the whole world is heaven.

Understand the word ‘initiation’. It does not mean doing some ceremony or ritual. Initiation means that ‘click’ happening in you. When a master expresses the truth, if the click, the realization, happens in you and if you suddenly feel, ‘O god! What he says is right. I was always thinking exactly this. He put it in the right way,’ that is what initiation is. If you feel whatever I am speaking is what you always thought about but I am verbalizing it and properly putting it in words, the initiation has happened.

Please understand, only after all the preparation is done and only when you are in the state of high intensity, the truth uttered by the master just clicks. When the master says there is no need for any seeking any more and just liberate yourself right now, you will be able to do so only if you have done enough of seeking and created the intensity. That is the paradox! Continue reading “What resulted in Paramahamsa Nithyananda Swamiji’s first spiritual experience”

Is pain real ?

There is a very beautiful analogy by Ramana Maharishi, an enlightened master from India.

A dog chews a dry bone. As it chews, fragments of the bone will poke into its mouth making it bleed. The dog thinks the blood is coming from the bone and it enjoys the blood. It continues to chew on the bone for the pleasure of the blood! It doesn’t realize that the blood is coming from its own mouth and not at all from the bone.

If violence excites you, you wait for that kind of incident in your life. If pain excites you, if you believe life is a pain shaft, you wait for that kind of incident in your life in order to strengthen and reinforce your belief. That is the general human psychology. Although people claim they want to break the violence shaft or pain shaft, they secretly nurture it.

Let me provide a deeper understanding.

The pain that you had ten years ago, the pain that you had nine years ago, the pain that you experienced seven years ago, the pain that you experienced three years ago, and the pain that you experienced yesterday are all unconnected, independent, individual incidents. But you start connecting all of them and create a shaft of pain. You connect all these thought shafts and create one big shaft. You start thinking and believing, ‘My life is pain.’ Is that true?

No!

What happened to all the sweet incidents of joy that you experienced in between? Surely, there must have been at least a few moments of joy in between? They are simply forgotten. They are never picked to form a shaft. So the shaft, any shaft, is never true, because it focuses on only a fragment of your complete biography. Continue reading “Is pain real ?”

Life becomes materialistic when you expand your ahamkara and it becomes moralistic when you work on your mamakara. Unclutch from both and realize you are beyond both.

This is an incident from the days right after my enlightenment when I was in Tamil Nadu in South India.

One evening, I was sitting in a very relaxed mood in a forest. My eyes were open, but I was not seeing anything, as there was no information going inside and getting processed. There was a huge snake lying about three feet in front of me. Because the eyes were not processing any information, there was no fear inside. I was sitting and the snake was also so relaxed and comfortable.

Then slowly, my mind came down to the normal plane and I had a thought, ‘Oh, there is a snake.’ Then the next thought came, ‘I should move away.’ The moment the thought ‘snake’ came in my inner space, I saw very clearly that the snake also felt disturbed that there was a man in its presence.

Until I felt ‘There is a snake,’ the snake never felt that I am a man. Until I felt the fear, the snake never felt threatened by me. Neither did I have fear nor did the snake have fear. But the moment I had fear, the snake also got fear. It was not that the physical distance between us reduced. Just the thought ‘snake’ came in me and I was clearly able to feel there was a disturbance, a restlessness, in the snake’s inner space. The moment I had the thought ‘I should move’, the moment I had the fear, immediately the snake also felt the same insecurity, the same threat. Immediately, the snake started moving, even before I started moving.

When your ego becomes strong, your ability to connect with Nature is disturbed. Continue reading “Life becomes materialistic when you expand your ahamkara and it becomes moralistic when you work on your mamakara. Unclutch from both and realize you are beyond both.”

If you have too many fears, the possibility for enlightenment is more. So many doors are available to you!

Fear is a deeper dimension of worry. Worry can cause ulcers. Fear on the other hand can even destroy life. However, unlike worry without which life is possible, fear seems woven into our lives. It is possible to face fear without fear. A person who we call courageous is not one without fear, but one who has learnt to face fear without fear.

Fear is a form of energy inside us. That is why it cannot be destroyed. Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only be changed from one form to another. Understand, your fear is directly connected to your life energy. Whenever you are facing a survival threat, you will see your fear rising and the adrenalin release happening in your body. That adrenalin release gives you so much energy that you can almost fly. We call it the fight or flight response – either you face the fear and fight, or you run away. There will be so much energy in your body the moment you face a survival threat. Whenever that threat is real, the swadhishthana chakra, the seat of life, gets completely shaken!

When there is pure desire or pure greed in you without any object in particular, it becomes the overflowing energy of creation, expansion, or Big Bang! For no reason, you simply explode with energy. In the same way, when there is pure fear in you without any object in particular, it becomes contraction, black hole. Fear is your nature, but don’t direct it towards any object. Having fear is natural. But connecting the fear to an object is societal. Pure fear helps in survival and it is spontaneous. Whatever you think as valuable, they are not even useful to you. How do you think they are useful to Sadashiva? He is not looking for anything from you. He is looking at your Consciousness through which He can celebrate Himself, He can manifest Himself!

One of the Mahadeva Rahasya you need to know, the moment you start seeking eternal love or bliss, which stays with you – understand you have received incoming call. And you need to know the individual soul, Jeevātma can only receive the incoming call, he cannot make the outgoing. If there is a seeking in you, understand, Sadāshiva has called you and you have all the right to declare – Sadāshivoham. Understand, when He calls it is always – Shivatvamasi – means He is initiating you. Shivatvamasi. Ay, you are Shiva. Ay, you are Shiva. Now you have a right to declare, Shivoham, Sadāshivoham. You don’t have to feel shy, “Oh, if I declare myself as Sadāshiva, will He not get angry, will He not check my qualifications?” No. The moment Seeking has come, you received the incoming call, pick up and talk. You don’t have to feel shy that you are calling that person. No. He has called you. You have a right to talk. Understand, you are programmed only for incoming call. If you are feeling the bell ringing in the hear, if you are feeling the seeking, drop the ego that – you are a Seeker, no.

Seeking is the secret invitation sent by Sadāshiva to be part of His secret life because He has a secret crush on you.

He has no use by you but He wants to manifest through you. Understand, ordinary human mind always thinks only in the business. “Oh, if he wants then He has something to achieve through me, gain through me.” Relax! Whatever you think as valuable, they are not even useful to you. How do you think they are useful to Him? Don’t be so stupid to think, they are useful to Him. They are not even useful to you.

He is not looking for anything from you. He is looking at YOU, your Consciousness through which He can manifest, He can celebrate Himself, He can manifest Himself. The more and more you manifest Oneness, the more and more you manifest powers; the more and more I celebrate myself in you. You become the ground in which I celebrate.

You become the Ambala in which I dance. You become the shoulder on which I rest. You become the lap on which I put My foot. You become the Adi Shesha where I do Yoga Nidra. Continue reading “Whatever you think as valuable, they are not even useful to you. How do you think they are useful to Sadashiva? He is not looking for anything from you. Upanishads are not do’s and don’ts but the thought currents you need to cherish, enjoy, entertain for higher intelligence to happen in you!

Introducing Kenopanishad. Somebody asked me, “Human beings are just developed monkeys, but how we are able to perceive so much about the Universe, Planets, Space? How we are able to understand so much about all this? Why other animals, even the closest version of us, chimpanzees, are not able to catch, understand things about Universe. Why human beings are able to understand perceive, even manipulate, as we want? Already we have space stations, some of the big rocks coming towards the Planet Earth we can blast it or redirect it from there itself. Already we are able to manipulate movements in the space. How?

Please understand, because only human beings started asking the question – keneśitaṁ – by whom? This Upanishad is responsible for keeping one of the most important, powerful thought current responsible for human intelligence. Please understand, few of the thought currents responsible for why human beings are the way they are. Listen, few of the thought currents—why the human beings are the way they are.

The first thought current—“Who am I?”

Second – “What happens after death?”

Third, most subtle, most precious, most important thought current—“What is the source of all this?” What happens after death? — that thought current was kept alive in the humanity.

Please understand, no Upanishad is a conclusion.

I wanted you to understand this Truth. Neither Isha nor Kena, or Katha, or Mundaka, or Mandukya. No Upanishad is conclusion. That’s the beauty. Seeking thought currents consolidated for further research is Upanishads. Understand, it is not answer. The whole Isavasya Upanishad you won’t get a single answer. These are some of the thesis proposed, some of the thought currents needed to be cherished, pondered upon, thought about, those thought currents will give you 1000 question 2000 answers. But those thought currents need to be kept alive; for your next generation they may give 10,000 questions and 20,000 answers. Seeking is powerful enough to merge the seeker into that which is sought after!

I will continue to expand the subject I left the day before yesterday’s Satsang, SEEKING. I have not yet completed defining it, and expanding on it. Then I will enter into the next verse, 16th verse. Before that I am reading a question, which is in all your minds, and I wanted to answer – it is not too heavy, so don’t worry. [laughs, referring to His matted hair worn on top of crown]. It’s not too heavy, and it’s very light, and I am very happy about it. I am enjoying it, and I’m really enjoying it. So because I am enjoying it, you guys also enjoy, come on! Tirumular varkavedda sivayoga vedda – means the form of Mahadeva.

I will expand on this great truth – Seeking. Understand, one part of you feels so strongly that you are going to exist forever and you don’t need to worry about the questions of after-life. It is like whenever you see people dying or you hear the news of somebody’s death—you always think for a few seconds, what will happen to me? And then somehow you end up in the conviction that you are going to exist forever, or the problem is not going to come immediately at least, or you just decide that you don’t need to attend to this question at least NOW.

Something, something happens you loose attention and focus from that spark. Please understand, come back to the basic questions — whatever makes you powerless is basic question you are not able to face it. Listen, whatever makes you powerless, is a basic question you are not able to face it—that is the seed of Seeking. Whatever makes you powerless, is the question you are not able to face it; and deciding to face those questions is Seeking.

Listen carefully, I will repeat once more. Whatever makes you powerless, what will happen after death, will I be all alone during my death, or in deathbed all the pain I may have to go through, will I be able to handle? Or if suddenly some poverty happens in my life, if I loose somethings, what will happen? So the questions which makes you powerless, if you decide not to face them, you push yourself into delusion again and again; if you decide to face them, that is Seeking. Conscious Intervention Causes Miracles

Saparyaka Chukram Akayam Avranam Asnabeeram Suthamabhabaveedam Kavir Manishi Paribhuh Swayambhur Yatha Tatha YaTho Than Vyadadas Chashwateebya Samabhyaha

I’ll read out the translation:

Pure Consciousness is all pervasive, beyond the coming and going, absolute radiant and self-effulgent, unembodied, boundaryless, whole, beyond the subtle body, woundless, muscleless, having no incompletion with the body, consciousness is the ever pure space devoid of the dirt of ignorance and is untouched by the delusion of incompletion, consciousness is the all-knowing seer of all, past, present and future, the lord of all minds, Maneeshi, consciousness transcends all beings, Paribhu, consciousness is self-existent, by itself, with its independent will and intelligence, having no cause for it’s happening, it is Pure Consciousness that from time eternal has enriched the ages and each being by ordaining desirable responsibilities, artha, onto them as per their nature and space, and their actions and results there-of.

Today, the last line, we will work on this last line. It’s pure consciousness that from the time eternal has enriched the ages and each being, by ordaining desirable responsibilities onto them as per their nature and space, and their actions and results there-of.

So it is consciousness which is center of all your karma, akarma, vikarma. Your actions, the results, doing, non-doing, liberation from doing and non-doing, all this, all this finally boils down to one, one, that is Consciousness. You can achieve the space of non-doing, real non-doing, only by experiencing Consciousness you can achieve the space and achieve what you want by doing only by being the center of Consciousness.

Understand if you want to achieve what you want to achieve you need to cognize you are Consciousness, if you want to achieve the non-doing, you need to cognize you are consciousness. Whether you want to achieve something by doing or achieve non doing, everything, the consciousness needs to be centered.  Continue reading “Conscious Intervention Causes Miracles”

I have seen the Masters who have so visibly, directly, shamelessly declaring the power of Mahadeva!

Somebody has put a comment on Facebook: ‘Why in India they didn’t build hospitals, schools?  How do you call them as evolved civilization?’  In every village, the largest building of the village is the common utility building where we had school, hospital, cinema theater, art gallery, teaching place, and, ultimately, teaching enlightenment.  The place, we call it as “TEMPLE”!  Understand?  We call that as “TEMPLE”.  “ALL”!  It is not just a “Mall”; it is “All”!  Everything about life is done there,  whether storing the grain, teaching principles, or medical-care, everything is done there.  And, moreover, our lifestyle was such, we didn’t need so much of hospitalization.  From the beginning we were taking care of ourselves. And an important thing, very important thing, when time comes, we were gracefully able to leave, say “bye bye”!  Because, we know we will come back!  We were not that poor psychologically or consciously that we were holding on to one body.  See, when you want to hold on to that one body only you need so much of medical-care.  We just know, when we need, we will make the body recover.  When it is time, body is too damaged, come on drop it, pick up another one!

We trust metal more than currency, because, for ages we have been a metal civilization, not currency civilization.  Understand, currency was pushed upon us very recently.  Those days, even currency had a value because of the metal in which the currency is made.  Currency itself independently did not have a value.  The gold with which the coin is made, that gold had a value, not declaration by the king or the administrator that this is this much valuable.  Understand, trusting only Vaishyas for wealth was our civilization.  Now our money is by Kshatriyas, politicians, administrators.  Please understand, that is why I am saying, your money is not money!  Because, the person who is going to transact, that community what they value only can be valuable in society.  See, when there is a crisis, what is going to get you your food, that is decided only by Vaishyas, not by Kshatriyas.  But, it is unfortunate, the whole lot of confusion. The first statement of Eeshavaasya Upanishad is not only the Truth but also a Technique!

Listen! This first statement, I can tell you, it is just a shock! It is so inclusive and so conclusive! That is why I am telling you, it can be applied immediately as a technique, and it will be realized as a truth any moment by you, understand? All these great truths, sometimes they are truth, but cannot be applied as techniques. Sometimes they are techniques, but cannot be taken as truth. When there is a gap…….

Yesterday I explained some of the statements, like Ramana Maharshi is saying, ‘Nothing will happen without His grace. Only what He wants will happen.’ See, this is a powerful technique if you practice it honestly with integrity; but, I have seen many people exploiting it. Many of these so-called religions people, they will do all the mistake and say, ‘Only by God’s will everything happens. Everything happens, finally, by His will.’

One fellow came to me. He said, ‘I am stuck in poverty. Please bless me. Somehow help me to get out of this poverty.’

I asked him, ‘What is the reason why this poverty happened?’

‘Oh, I have fourteen kids.’

I asked him, ‘You could have been a little intelligent.’

He says, ‘What can I do? God gave!’

No, I just looked at him. I did not ask him any further questions! Now how I am looking at you guys, same way I looked at him. He understood!

I didn’t ask him verbally, ‘Did God come and do everything?’ But he understood! Continue reading “The first statement of Eeshavaasya Upanishad is not only the Truth but also a Technique!”
