Peace starts from putting starts from putting all your ‘pieces’ together, Integrity!

May all Dharma, the Sacred Truths declared by Upaniṣads be fully manifest and radiate in me, who, am integrated and authentically devoted to knowing the experience of that Truth, Ātmā, the Self.

May they manifest and radiate in me – mayi santu te mayi santu |

The declaration, Shanti Mantra. Actually this verse should be not be translated as ‘peace prayer’, it should be translated as ‘peace declaration.’ Understand. Here nobody is praying to anybody. No God is presupposed. No bargain is in the existence. No business deal is in existence. There will always be some said, unsaid understandings.

If you believe in certain things, certain actions will manifest from you, it’s 100% sure. I have always seen, people who do not commit and take responsibility – I can see very clearly, they make fun of our whole lifestyle. Anybody who believes the lifestyle we live in or Sangha, who loves the lifestyle, who believes the lifestyle, I have always seen, they take the responsibility, they fall in love with the responsibility, and active lifestyle. And I have also seen people cooking up their own reasons not to get involved and not to take responsibility. Starts from varied reasons, they are masters in finding reasons. Starts from headache to my kid is too small. But I have always seen, people who do not take the responsibility, do not get involved, do not love Me or the lifestyle I am teaching. When you love, you can’t keep quiet. When you fall in love with somebody, you will just radiate their lifestyle, their thought current. You will just manifest. Seeking is powerful enough to merge the seeker into that which is sought after!

I will continue to expand the subject I left the day before yesterday’s Satsang, SEEKING. I have not yet completed defining it, and expanding on it. Then I will enter into the next verse, 16th verse. Before that I am reading a question, which is in all your minds, and I wanted to answer – it is not too heavy, so don’t worry. [laughs, referring to His matted hair worn on top of crown]. It’s not too heavy, and it’s very light, and I am very happy about it. I am enjoying it, and I’m really enjoying it. So because I am enjoying it, you guys also enjoy, come on! Tirumular varkavedda sivayoga vedda – means the form of Mahadeva.

I will expand on this great truth – Seeking. Understand, one part of you feels so strongly that you are going to exist forever and you don’t need to worry about the questions of after-life. It is like whenever you see people dying or you hear the news of somebody’s death—you always think for a few seconds, what will happen to me? And then somehow you end up in the conviction that you are going to exist forever, or the problem is not going to come immediately at least, or you just decide that you don’t need to attend to this question at least NOW.

Something, something happens you loose attention and focus from that spark. Please understand, come back to the basic questions — whatever makes you powerless is basic question you are not able to face it. Listen, whatever makes you powerless, is a basic question you are not able to face it—that is the seed of Seeking. Whatever makes you powerless, is the question you are not able to face it; and deciding to face those questions is Seeking.

Listen carefully, I will repeat once more. Whatever makes you powerless, what will happen after death, will I be all alone during my death, or in deathbed all the pain I may have to go through, will I be able to handle? Or if suddenly some poverty happens in my life, if I loose somethings, what will happen? So the questions which makes you powerless, if you decide not to face them, you push yourself into delusion again and again; if you decide to face them, that is Seeking. Saying “YES” to life is always right and brings all good things!

Let us start on the third verse of Ishavasya Upanishad:

असुर्या नाम ते लोका अन्धेन तमसाऽऽवृताः । ताँस्ते प्रेत्याभिगच्छन्ति ये के चात्महनो जनाः ॥

Asurya naama they lokaa andhena thamasaavruthaah | Thaagumsthey prethyabhigachchanthi ye ke chaathmahano janaah ||

Listen!  Please listen!  No one is good, no one is bad.  If somebody does the actions which fulfill your ambitions, you call them as “good”.  If somebody does actions which are not fulfilling your ambitions, you call them “bad”.  No one is right, no one is wrong.  No one is good, no one is bad.  Deciding somebody is good or bad, right or wrong, is purely dependent on how much they are supporting your ambition.  So, what Cosmos answers, what is the answer of Cosmos for this issue?

The Upanishads, please understand, Upanishads are Dharma declaring its authority and authenticity by itself.  No human-being is involved in it.  No human vested interests are involved in it.  No!  Here, no Prophet, no Messenger, no Son of God, not even God, is involved, understand?  Hindu Tradition is so bold, God has only second place!  The Dharma, Upanishads, stand taller than the concept of God, understand?  It stands taller than the concept of God!   Continue reading “Saying “YES” to life is always right and brings all good things!”

As per the Upanishads, euthanasia, “mercy killing”, is not encouraged or allowed.

असुर्या नाम ते लोका अन्धेन तमसाऽऽवृताः । ताँस्ते प्रेत्याभिगच्छन्ति ये के चात्महनो जनाः ॥ Asurya naama they lokaa andhena thamasaavruthaah | Thaamsthey prethyabhigachchanthi ye ke chaathmahano janaah || The translation: ‘The various abodes of the Asuras, the lower level existence, are in the form of inferior or lower grade worlds, which are like hells coerced by darkness, representing all the negative qualities, collectively called “thamas”. Those who literally kill the Athma become ghosts who inhabit such horrible abodes, and, this, they continue to do repeatedly.’ And, I am very clearly, with all my integrity, telling you from this sutra, “mercy killing” is wrong! … Continue reading As per the Upanishads, euthanasia, “mercy killing”, is not encouraged or allowed.

Richness of Hinduism

UPANISHADS! This first mantra, Shanthi Mantra of Ishavasya Upanishad, which is in the Fortieth Chapter of Yajur Veda, it is given first place in the series of Upanishads. I should just say a few words about these Upanishads and mantras.

There are four major Commenatries on Upanishads. Four major Commentaries: Neelakanta Shivacharya, Adi Guru Shankaracharya, Ramanujacharya, Madhwacharya. All four of them are great enlightened beings, incarnations. No question of comparing anybody with others. All four of them made Upanishads user-friendly for a different type of group at different times. So, please understand, the differences you see in the different Commentaries of the Masters is not because of the Masters, it is because of the disciples.

When Neelakanta Shivacharya – he is the first one who wrote the Commentary, much earlier to Adi Guru Adi Shankaracharya, Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya – when Neelakanta Shivacharya was writing the Commentary, what was the need of the society, human society at that time, what needs to be highlighted for them, what is the best way they will all be able to experience the Upanishads, from that angle he presented the Upanishads. And then comes Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya. He is one of the greatest incarnations. He reveals the Upanishads for that time and for that human society. Please understand, ‘Why the differences between the Masters?’, should be understood.

Somebody came to me. He came for a debate, and straight he started asking, ‘Swamiji, even among our own acharyas there is no one conclusion. How can we follow anything? Hinduism is just chaos and confusion!’

I said, ‘Who funded your education?!!’

These people, the Hindus educated by the anti-Hindu forces, are most dangerous than any anti-Hindu forces! These people confuse the common man and destroy Hindu Tradition, understand? As an inheritor of Hindu wisdom – not “self-styled”; I am born Hindu, brought up as Hindu! – I am telling you, please understand, the differences between the acharyas’ Commentaries are not because all the acharyas’ “anubhoothi”, experience, was different. No! The need of the society, need of the disciples, need of the human society at that time was different! So, when each acharya happened – the Upanishads are like an ocean – each one of them made the Upanishads user-friendly for that time and society. The differences of the acharyas and their Commentaries should be taken as the richness of Hinduism, and not as chaos or confusion of Hinduism. So, they provided paths for different mindsets.
