Only acts of service coming from Pure consciousness can be truly effective.

Swamiji, You teach us meditation. What is the point of meditation when the rest of the world is suffering? Instead of meditating, we can do some service.

A small story:

There was once a king who was known to be compassionate. He used to go around his kingdom unannounced to see how his subjects were.

One day, he saw a small boy catching a pigeon. The boy held the pigeon tightly in his hands as it tried to flutter desperately. The king asked the boy, ‘Don’t you see the bird is afraid and struggling? Why don’t you free it?’ Read More

Discover Your Consciouness

Today, I will enter into the fifth verse of Ishavasya Upanishad.  Please recite along with me.

तदेजति तन्नैजति तद्दूरे तद्वन्तिके। तदन्तरस्य सर्वस्य तदु सर्वस्यास्य बाह्यतः॥

Thadhejathi Thannaijathi Thadhdhoore Thadhvanthike | Thadhantharasya Sarvasya Thadhu Sarvasyaasya Baahyathah ||

The translation:

That moves, and That moves not.  That is far off, That is also near. That is the inner space of all this, and That is also the outer space of all this.

Through this statement, Upanishad is declaring, you need “manana”, intranalyzing, to experience Consciousness, not just “shravana” is enough.  “Shravana”, listening, to instigate “manana”, intranalyzing.  Please understand, the fifth verse also again describes the various qualities of Consciousness, or, I can say, the various techniques with which you can move yourself towards the Consciousness, you can experience Consciousness.

तदेजति तन्नैजति तद्दूरे तद्वन्तिके।
तदन्तरस्य सर्वस्य तदु सर्वस्यास्य बाह्यतः॥

Thadhejathi Thannaijathi Thadhdhoore Thadhvanthike |

Thadhantharasya Sarvasya Thadhu Sarvasyaasya Baahyathah ||

That moves, and That moves not.  That is far off, That is also near.

That is the inner space of all this, and That is also the outer space of all this.

Listen!  Seemingly confusing description, but the most clear statement ever uttered on the Planet Earth is this statement!  Most authentic statement ever uttered on the Planet Earth is this statement!

तदेजति तन्नैजति तद्दूरे तद्वन्तिके।
तदन्तरस्य सर्वस्य तदु सर्वस्यास्य बाह्यतः॥

Conscious Intervention Causes Miracles

Saparyaka Chukram Akayam Avranam Asnabeeram Suthamabhabaveedam Kavir Manishi Paribhuh Swayambhur Yatha Tatha YaTho Than Vyadadas Chashwateebya Samabhyaha

I’ll read out the translation:

Pure Consciousness is all pervasive, beyond the coming and going, absolute radiant and self-effulgent, unembodied, boundaryless, whole, beyond the subtle body, woundless, muscleless, having no incompletion with the body, consciousness is the ever pure space devoid of the dirt of ignorance and is untouched by the delusion of incompletion, consciousness is the all-knowing seer of all, past, present and future, the lord of all minds, Maneeshi, consciousness transcends all beings, Paribhu, consciousness is self-existent, by itself, with its independent will and intelligence, having no cause for it’s happening, it is Pure Consciousness that from time eternal has enriched the ages and each being by ordaining desirable responsibilities, artha, onto them as per their nature and space, and their actions and results there-of.

Today, the last line, we will work on this last line. It’s pure consciousness that from the time eternal has enriched the ages and each being, by ordaining desirable responsibilities onto them as per their nature and space, and their actions and results there-of.

So it is consciousness which is center of all your karma, akarma, vikarma. Your actions, the results, doing, non-doing, liberation from doing and non-doing, all this, all this finally boils down to one, one, that is Consciousness. You can achieve the space of non-doing, real non-doing, only by experiencing Consciousness you can achieve the space and achieve what you want by doing only by being the center of Consciousness.

Understand if you want to achieve what you want to achieve you need to cognize you are Consciousness, if you want to achieve the non-doing, you need to cognize you are consciousness. Whether you want to achieve something by doing or achieve non doing, everything, the consciousness needs to be centered.  Read More

You are untouched by incompletions, that is the truth!

Saparyaka Chukram Akayam Avranam Asnabeeram Suthamabhabaveedam Kavir Manishi Paribhuh Swayambhur Yatha Tatha YaTho Than Vyadadas Chashwateebya Samabhyaha

I can say in this verse the Upanishadic Rishi is exploding. He just wants to finish it off whatever he wants to say about consciousness. It is like he feels he can’t describe, he can’t spell it out.

Actually whenever you feel you can’t spell it out you can’t describe, you go on repeating the same line ten times. ‘ Oh you know that is that that, that is that that, that is that that.’ When you feel words are not enough you will be repeating the same words which is not enough again and again. You will be repeating the same word again and again. Read More

Consciousness that is centre of the karma chakra

I’ll continue on the 8th verse of the Isavasya Upanishad:

Saparyaka Chukram Akayam Avranam Asnabeeram Suthamabhabaveedam Kavir Manishi Paribhuh Swayambhur Yatha Tatha YaTho Than Vyadadas Chashwateebya Samabhyaha

Pure Consciousness is all pervasive. Today I just wanted to give a literal meaning, an implicated meaning of this verse.

Pure Consciousness is all pervasive, like space, beyond the coming and going, absolute radiant and self-effulgent, absolute radiant and self-effulgent, unembodied, boundaryless, whole, understand Consciousness is not embodied.

Please listen. Consciousness is not inside your body or outside your body. It is everything that you understand. See if consciousness is inside your body and your body and mind is there, then you can say embodied but here Upanishads are very clearly declaring everything is consciousness. Now how can you say you are embodied consciousness? No, embodied means something other than consciousness should exist but here it is not. Unembodied, boundaryless, whole. It is just boundaryless. How will you imagine? Try, try your best. Boundaryless, like space. Boundaryless Whole. Woundless, muscleless. Means if there is a muscle there is a possibility for wound. It is not restricted to your body. It’s beyond any possibility of wounds, muscles having no incompletion with the body. Means you being consciousness will not destroy the body, no, no incompletions with the body. Beyond the gross body. Consciousness is the ever pure space devoid of the dirt of ignorance beyond the causal body and is untouched by the delusion of incompletion. Consciousness is the all-knowing seer of all, past, present, future. The lord of all minds, Maneeshi, consciousness transcends all beings.

Each line I have to spend at least one year to explain. Consciousness transcends all beings. Please understand anything that is can become not. Anything is, can become not. Here no is and not. Consciousness is isness which is beyond is and not. It is like Nithya is beyond Nithya, Anithya beyond Nithya, Anithya is Nithya. So beyond is and not, is isness. The isness is consciousness. Consciousness is existent by itself swayambhu, swayambhu.

Kavir manishi paribhu swayambhu .

With its independent will and intelligence understand it is not some dead light kind of thing. No, it has independent will and intelligence. Having no cause for its happening, means it is not caused by something. It’s Pure Consciousness from time eternal has enriched the ages and each being by ordaining desirable responsibilities onto them as per their nature and space, and their actions and results there-of.

Understand it is consciousness that is centre of the karma chakra. It is consciousness that is centre of everything of that which is everything.

You are ever pure space devoid of the dirt of ignorance!

Romance itself is nothing but exploring the other person. When you feel you know the other, your romance is dead. I want to coin the new word, ‘rumance’ it becomes. It ends just in one room. The excitement is not actually from the other person. It is actually your excitement to explore and know. Excitement is always from knowledge, understand. The moment you decide to have something else as the purpose of your knowledge, the ignorance starts in you, cunningness starts in you. When your teacher tells you to memorize the mathematic table and you think, “Wow. Without that mathematic table itself my friend has passed the exam or my other friend is having his candy because his father is rich. Why should I memorize all this mathematic table?” The moment you decide, not to, that is when the layer of ignorance, the dirt of ignorance starts covering you.

Maha Saraswati, the embodiment of knowledge, she is very clear, only if you decide she will put you in ignorance, not otherwise. Putting yourself in ignorance is out of your will. You are never pushed into ignorance. Listen. The five actions – Creating, Maintaining, Destroying, Putting in ignorance and Liberating. In these five actions, this ‘putting in ignorance’ you do it by your own. These three — Creation, Maintenance, Destruction, Mahadeva does from His Cosmic form. ‘Putting in ignorance’ you do it on your own. Giving liberation He assumes the form of Guru. Read More

Ignorance is declared first time in you when you do not want to know, not when you don’t know

I will continue to expand on the 8th verse of the Īśāvāsya Upaniṣad

sa paryagāc-chukram akāyam avraṇam  asnāviram śuddham apāpa-viddham |
kavir manīṣī paribhūḥ svayambhūr   yathātathyato-arthān vyadadhāc-chāśvatībhyaḥ samābhyaḥ || 8 ||

Pure Consciousness is all-pervasive beyond the coming and going, absolute radiant and self-effulgent, un-embodied boundary-less whole, woundless, muscleless having no incompletion with the body; Consciousness is the ever pure space devoid of the dirt of ignorance (beyond causal body), and is untouched by the delusion of incompletion.

Listen. I wanted all of you to take up this as a Vakyartha Sadas – subject and homework. Start working on – unembodied, boundaryless whole, woundless muscleless having no incompletion with the body. Consciousness is ever pure space devoid of dirt of ignorance and is untouched by the delusion of incompletion. Consciousness is the all-knowing seer of all — past, present and future, Consciousness transcends all beings. Consciousness is self-existent by Itself.

Actually only first two lines will take so many days. Once you know the knack, now you can work on all these truths in one or two days. So by today and tomorrow, finish-off all this by doing the homework of — what is the pattern which makes me experience otherwise the Upaniṣad is describing as ‘me.’ Read More

Om, the Yon is full, Fullness.
Fullness, this from Fullness, fullness doth proceed.
Withdrawing Fullness’s Fullness off,
Even Fullness then itself remains.
(Brihadaranyaka Upanishad)

Now, an introduction, understand.

A normal man’s life in the waking state runs based on logic. How much ever you condemn logic, you can’t drop it, understand? Even after realizing the state of God, if I feel like sneezing, I have to pick up the kerchief and wipe my face. It will not come by itself and wipe my face. A waking state of human life is bound by logic, it functions by logic. Logic is the law of waking state of human life.

But, human life is not just waking state as we are all made to strongly cognize. That is where we need to understand.

Listen. When the emotion interferes in any equation, logic loses its base. For example, two plus two is four (2 + 2 = 4) is logic. But, in a painting, the paint you used and the canvas put together is not painting. That is not equivalent to painting. Listen. You can’t even come to the logical conclusion the amount of force used by the painter on the brush which reached the canvas and made the paint stick to the canvas. No! The amount of paint used, the amount of force used, the canvas used, all put together can never equate painting, because, the component of ‘emotion’ involved! That is why even the country law gives huge punishment if the crime is heinous crime. All murderers don’t get hanged. Only if it is ‘rarest of the rare’, they get hanged. What decides the ‘rarest of the rare’? The emotion involved in it; like a child is killed. A child is raped and killed. Naturally, too much of emotion involved in it. The child has a future; it can’t defend itself; it can’t protect itself; defenseless! Life, which has a future, when that is harmed or killed, naturally it becomes ‘rarest of the rare’ crime. Understand, in any field, when the emotion is involved, logic cannot be taken to the end, and that does not give the right result.

Emotion is the ‘Smell of Consciousness’. That is why your dreams can never be logically analyzed or concluded. Suddenly you will be sitting with somebody, who you never want to see in your life – waking state, and having breakfast. Instead of breaking fast, you will be breaking your head. Listen. Read More

Dharma is operating from the right context

The more and more you listen, the more and more you reach the space of Completion. The more and more you enter into the space of Completion, the more and more you are established in the space of Advaitha. Even if you show good qualities like non-violence, because of Self-Doubt it cannot be considered as Dharma. I am not saying be violent. All I am trying to tell you is be non-violent from the right context. Only then it is Dharma. Everything has to be done from the right context. Right context! Listen! Right context! Everything has to be done from the right context. You should be non-violent from the understanding that what you feel as you is the same they feel as them about them, not because you have doubt about yourself so you allow them to attack you and you withdraw. Withdrawal because of Self-Doubt is not Dharma. That is what Arjuna was trying to do. Even though he was trying to hide his Self-Doubt, the shivering, the description shows he has entered into Self-Doubt. Shivering, frightened, he didn’t even have the power and strength to hold the Gandiva, the bow. But he says, ‘No, no, no, what is the use of killing all of them? Even if I get the kingdom by killing all of them, why should I do?’ No! He may be uttering those words, but already the Self-Doubt is making him shiver, will he be able to kill them?

Understand, Arjuna withdrawing due to Self-Doubt can never be Dharma. If he withdraws from the context, ‘Me and them are the same energy. Then why should I need to kill them? Let them rule the kingdom. What is the problem?’, if, from that Advaithic context he has withdrawn, it is Jnana. With that Advaithic context – ‘Yes, me, what I feel as me is the same what they experience as them, what they feel as…’…….

Listen! I am defining! What I feel as me in the pure listening is what is they also. But, unfortunately, they are not listening to that part of them. So, let them be given the right punishment and made to listen to that part of them which is me, which is both, the pure consciousness; that is Vijnana. Understand?

By defining the Mahabharata, I am defining my war strategy. Yes! What I experience as me is what they also experience; unfortunately, they are so aggressive, they are not listening to their own pure consciousness. So, let them be taught a lesson, let them understand, let them be made to listen to their consciousness.

The Gita clearly describes:

गाण्डीवं स्रंसते हस्तात्त्वक्चैव परिदह्यते ।
न च शक्नोम्यवस्थातुं भ्रमतीव च मे मनः ॥१-३०॥

Gaandivam sramsathey hasthaath thvak cha eva paridahyathey |
Na cha shaknomi avasthaathum bhramatheeva cha may manaha ||

“My bow, Gaandiva, is slipping from my hands, and my skin is burning all over, and my mind is whirling, and I am now unable to stand here any longer.”

It is a direct symptom of desperate depression, desperation plus depression put together. The diagnosis is directly “desperation and depression” put together….the symptoms. So, withdrawal at this mood is Adharma, not Dharma.
