Your own Existential experience is only one, your ātman, self. Everything else is your perceptional experience. If you remember in the dream, is this perceptional reality or existential reality?, you will wake up. In the waking state, if you remember, is this perceptional reality or existential reality?, you will be awakened.

Kenopanishad. The sacred secrets revealed in the Kenopanishad.  The 3rd and 4th mantra in the second khanḍaḥ of Kenopanishad.

yasyāmataṁ tasya mataṁ  mataṁ yasya na veda saḥ
avijñātam vijānatāṁ vijñātmavijānatām || 3||

The 4th verse recite along with Me:

pratibodhaviditaṁ matamamṛtatvaṁ hi vindate
ātmanā vindate vīryaṁ  vidyayā vindate ‘mṛtam || 4 ||

I’ll read out the translation for the 3rd and 4th verse, then reveal the sacred secrets.

He by whom, It is not known, to him It is known and experienced; he by whom, it is Known, to him, It is not known or perceived. It is unknown to those, who think they know It well and known to those, who know It not.

The 4th Verse:

It is truly known, when the Self is consciously cognized and subjectively known to oneself in each state of Consciousness with every modification of the mind and intellect. Through such complete, matured cognition of the Pure Self is attained immortality, amṛtatvam —existence in one’s own Self. By Ātman, the Pure Self is attained real strength, the space of powerfulness. And by Vidyā, Complete Knowledge of the Self is experienced Immortality, which is the true nature of Ātman.

If you feel ‘Whole day I am working, but end of the day, I don’t know what I have done’ means all parts of you still have not woken up!

Listen carefully. Somethings you need to understand about the state of consciousness, to understand the biology, chemistry and physics of the Cosmos. Every night when you fall asleep, it is not that all of you fall in the same deep sleep state or dream state. You are all cut to pieces like a mutton – chicken. One chunk goes to dream-waking, one chunk goes to waking-deep sleep, one chunk goes to dream-deep sleep, one chunk goes to sleep-dream, one chunk goes to sleep-sleep, one chunk goes to dream-dream. You are actually a….sorry but truth….you are a disgusting disaster, not bipolar – multipolar part-part. Your liver goes and settles into dream-deep sleep and kidney goes and falls into sleep-sleep and eyes are into dream-dream. Brain coma-sleep. No, you fall…..no please understand – you fall into different states, when you wake up, don’t think all the parts are retrieved. No! Liver still does not come out of it’s sleep, that is why it is sending the signals of lethargy into your system. Lethargy is nothing but your liver still not come to waking state.

Fundamental problem is – you are out bed does not mean you are awake

It’s not that because you are powerless you did not express the power of third eye, you have never tried. Your individual will has never been told convincingly that you have a possibility!

Participant of Sadashivoham Program is asking “Yeah! Swamiji, what I want to ask is I am going through so many things, so at each point of time, when I am in in either dream state or in waking state or in any of those three states that I am in, without my knowledge or without my awareness, these states are criss crossing and I really don’t know what I’m going through until I see something which is manifesting as a reality outside.  Now that after you have told this now I can relate, okay I’m going through something, so that is manifested there’s something outside.

Now this individual will does it have the capacity or the power or the strength to overpower these states, is what I want to know and I want to know the difference between that individual will and the cosmic will. How to align this to that?” Continue reading “It’s not that because you are powerless you did not express the power of third eye, you have never tried. What meditation can do and why meditation needs to be practiced ?

We experience two states of mind in our day-to-day life, one is with thoughts, the other is without thoughts. We know we have thoughts when we are awake. In deep sleep, do we have thoughts? No. So there are two states of mind: with thoughts and without thoughts. Continue reading “What meditation can do and why meditation needs to be practiced ?”

An intense seeker will carry the identity about himself throughout all three states – dream, deep sleep and waking.

There are four states of consciousness.

When you have ‘I’ Consciousness and thoughts, you are in the waking state, the state in which you are right now. In this state, ‘I’ has more frequency than your thoughts. So you can control your thoughts.

When you are without ‘I’ consciousness but having thoughts, you are in the dream state. In the dream state, your thoughts are at a higher frequency than your ‘I’ consciousness. That is why you have thoughts in your dreams but you are not able to control them.

When you are without ‘I’ Consciousness and not having any thoughts, you are in the deep sleep state. Normally, we are aware of only these three states of waking, dream and deep sleep.

The fourth state is where you have I consciousness but no thoughts or turiya.

Intensity means being intense every moment in whatever you do. So first you need to be aware of yourself in all the states. Then only you can be intense throughout.

Now you experience who you are with awareness only during the waking state. You feel, ‘I am a doctor,’ ‘I am a lawyer,’ ‘I am an engineer’ and so on. Only if we are aware of the identities that we carry and enjoy in all the three states, we have caught the thread, the center line of all the three states of waking, dream and deep sleep. When we catch the thread of all these three states, suddenly we realize our identity in all the three states. Fourth state of Consciousness – turiya, is the space of thoughtless awareness where intuition and intelligence is expressed!

We have two levels of consciousness and two levels of thoughts.

In the waking state you have ‘I’ consciousness and thoughts, conscious state, called jagrat in Sanskrit.

In dreams you have thoughts but no ‘I’ consciousness. The frequency of thoughts is more than the frequency of ‘I’ consciousness. That is why in the dream state, called swapna in Sanskrit, you cannot control your dreams. The dreams will happen as they want. But in the waking state, you can control your thoughts.

In deep sleep you have neither ‘I’ consciousness nor thoughts, unconscious state, called sushupti in Sanskrit.

There is a fourth state which you have never experienced, what I call intuition or meditation. In this state, you have ‘I’ consciousness but no thoughts. There is no term in the domain of psychology to describe this state. In Sanskrit this state is called turiya. This is what I call meditation or intuition or thoughtless awareness. This state is also called the state of samadhi. If you can experience this zone, this fourth state, you can experience the consciousness, what I call beyond intellect. It is the state where there is bliss or peace or intuition. How I took this body

See, usually what happens when I fall into that samadhi is, kind of a light ball which assumed this body overtakes this body. Exactly if I have to describe, if I remember how I took this body, this form, I see very clearly, suddenly like a light ball, whatever I feel as me, landed into my mother’s umbilical cord. See when I landed, when that light ball landed, already my body was, I can say that, out of my mother’s womb. Maybe in this way I can put it, that umbilical cord has stretched the extent that the necessity to … Continue reading How I took this body
